Making Connections in Dynamics 365.mp4
On your Narthex page you should have a link to Dynamics 365.

You have to choose the first end of your connection. I will begin with a contact. | |
On the top right-hand side of the window click on the magnifying glass which will open your search bar.
| In the search bar I will search for the contact by typing in “J*Neff” with no spaces. The Asterix adds the search parameter of “Neff” to the letter “J” and narrows the search. | |
This produces 3 options. I will choose the Contact John Neff by double clicking with my mouse on the name.
In the contact profile, on the right hand side (if you are in full screen mode) you will see a view called “CONNECTIONS” This is the area where all connections show whether it is a Contact or an Account (congregation, pastoral charge, etc.) |
| On the menu bar at the top there is an option named “CONNECT”. | |
| When you click on this it opens a connection dialogue box with the name you are trying to connect. | |
I would like to connect my “contact” name with the “account” Clifford Pastoral Charge. I typed in Clifford and it gave me the option.
If you do not see the correct one, then choose “Search for More Records” and find the Account for which you are looking. |
This will open a dialogue box. In this dialogue box type in the name, you want to search. From the options choose the correct one by picking the checkbox and hitting the “Add” button. If you click on the actual name, it will redirect you to that record. |
Now you need to choose the role for the connection. I want to make this connection as a pastoral charge supervisor so I will enter “P”, and it already prompts the option. If you are not sure of the options, click on the search button on the right. |
| The search button opens up a dialogue box that gives some options. If you scroll to the bottom, you can “Look up More Records” | |
| “Look up More Records” opens another dialogue box. Choose the option you want by selecting the checkbox and then hit “Add | |
| At this point you have the option of adding a “Description” or start and end dates. | |
| Once you are finished you can save and close or save and new to create another connection to the same “contact” | |
| If you look up the contact (my name) you will see the connection in the “Connections” window to the Account (in this case Clifford Pastoral Charge) | |
| Or if you look up the ACCOUNT (in this case Clifford Pastoral Charge) you will see the connection to the Contact | |
| And that is how you make connections. I hope you find this helpful. | |
